- Senior Soldier Roman Miroshnichenko was killed on September 17, 2022 while performing a combat mission near the village of Pravdyne in the Kherson region. The warrior was 31 years old. Roman was born in the village of Kairy, Kherson region. He lived his whole life in Kakhovka. He studied at the local school. In 2014, he graduated from the Kherson Maritime Academy and obtained the profession of navigator. When he received his diploma, the Russian military occupied Crimea, and soon the war began. The young man decided to defend Ukraine and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the Donetsk region. Later, he returned home, got married and worked in his specialty. He went through the career path from a sailor to a ship's mate. When the full-scale war began, the man was on a business trip abroad. However, he immediately decided to return to Ukraine and defend it from the invaders again. Roman became a fighter of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He held the position of squad commander. In the summer, as part of his unit, he fought for his native Kherson region. "He was the only son of his mother, a loving father and a beloved husband. Roma was the best son in the world. He was an extremely kind and fair person. During the performance of a combat mission, together with a group of fighters, he came under fire. Roman was wounded, waited for evacuation... In his last minutes, he wrote messages that he was having a hard time, a great loss of blood, but he would soon return, that we would meet, that he would hug his daughter, but he did not wait... The body was taken almost 2 months later. This is a great and irreparable loss for all of us. He sacrificed himself for the victory in the struggle for freedom. We are all proud of him, his indomitability and patriotism. For all relatives and friends, for everyone who knew him, he is a true Hero," the widow of the fallen said. The defender was buried at the Kapustyansky cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. Roman is survived by his mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and grandfather.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
