Roman L. Korol

Soldier Roman Korol was killed in action on April 28, 2022, near the village of Voronove in Luhansk region. While performing a combat mission, the defender came under enemy artillery fire and received a fatal wound. The warrior would have turned 40 in a month. Roman was born in Zvenigorodka, Cherkasy region. In childhood, he moved with his family to the village of Khizhynci, Cherkasy region. After finishing school, he started working. From 2005, he lived in Kyiv. For the last 20 years, he was an administrator at a car wash station. He was interested in history and had a wonderful fruit garden where he spent a lot of time. From the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the defense of Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces. He served in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Gordienko. "A brave warrior, a true patriot, a good, sincere, honest, and fair person, a loving father and husband - Roman will forever remain in the memory of those who had the honor of knowing him. We bow to the hero low! Infinite respect for his heroic deed, respect for the call of his noble heart! Roman Korol will remain in the memory of grateful descendants as an example of courage, heroism, unquenchable patriotism, and loyalty to the military oath," said the Lysianska community. The defender was buried in the village of Khizhynci. Roman is survived by his wife and daughter. Posthumously, soldier Roman Korol was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
