- Junior Sergeant Roman Dzeman (call sign Separ) was killed on May 5, 2022, near the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk region. The fighter was killed by a mine. He was 35 years old. Roman was born in the village of Krykhivtsi near Ivano-Frankivsk. He was involved in sports, playing football for the local team. After graduating from school, he stu at the Kyiv Institute of Management and Economics. He lived in Kyiv and worked at the "Antonov" plant. In 2014, he went to fight in the ATO, serving in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He went through Debaltseve, Avdiivka, Pisky, and Marinka. In 2016, he was wounded and discharged. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Roman Dzeman volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade on the front line. Relatives and friends remember Roman Dzeman as a fair, patriotic, responsible, and cheerful man. His comrades-in-arms speak of him as a professional sapper, a man who never refused to help. "He was offered to stay as an instructor for other soldiers, but he refused. He knew he would be more useful on the front line. He was a master of his craft, always leading the way into battle. And he never complained about the difficulties, saying: 'All will be Ukraine,'" said his mother, Halyna Dzeman. Roman was killed during a combat mission when he stepped on a mine. He covered it with his body to save his comrades. He was buried in the cemetery in his native Krykhivtsi. Roman is survived by his wife, son, parents, and sister.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
