Roman M. Lesnyi (Romchyk)

Senior soldier Roman Lesny was killed on September 21, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Bila Hora in Donetsk region. The warrior was 43 years old. Roman was born in the city of Dubno in the Rivne region. He lived, stu, and worked there. He obtained a welding profession at a vocational school. He loved fishing, was interested in technology, and was passionate about motorcycles. He started a family and dreamed of a peaceful life for his children. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Roman fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces. He was a soldier of the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade. Together with his comrades, he carried out combat missions at the front. Above all, he believed in victory. "I would like to say that he was the best father and an example for me. I want my dad to be remembered and known. He was a hero and gave his life for all of us," said the son of the fallen, Nazar. "Sincere condolences and a low bow to the relatives and close ones of the fallen soldier. Eternal memory, honor, and respect to the Ukrainian warrior," wrote the Dubno community. The defender was buried in his hometown. At home, Roman was awaited by his wife and two children.
