Roman M. Mykhalchenko

Mikhalchenko Roman Mykolaiovych was born in 1977 in the village of Pohrebyshche, Brovary district, Kyiv region. In January 2015, as a reservist, he was called up to the Armed Forces, to the ranks of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He participated in the war in Eastern Ukraine, returned in April 2016. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was mobilized on February 24, 2022, and was at the front line. He held the position of commander of the airborne assault platoon. He died on March 22, 2022 in the Donetsk region. That day at 3:30 a group of military personnel (about 40 people) were resting in a multi-story building. According to preliminary information, one of the local residents betrayed the positions of the defenders to the enemy, and the occupier launched a missile strike on the building. He was bid farewell on March 30, 2022 in his native village.
