- 21-year-old senior soldier Roman Peliukh (call sign Lion) was killed on July 15, 2023 near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal shrapnel wounds during enemy shelling. Roman was born and lived in the village of Andriivka in the Lviv region. He graduated from the Lviv Higher Vocational School, obtaining a mechanic's qualification. In 2020, he went on conscript service in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine and remained in the military. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his native country in the ranks of the 15th Operational Purpose Brigade named after the Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada. He held the position of a rifleman in the operational purpose platoon of the operational purpose company on armored personnel carriers. "He was an extraordinarily good child, the best brother, a reliable comrade-in-arms, a devoted warrior of his country," said the sister of the deceased, Oksana Tomkiv.
