Roman N. Mahamedov (Maha)

Junior Sergeant Roman Mahamedov (call sign Maga) was killed on June 28, 2023 near the village of Zaliznyanskе in the Donetsk region. While withdrawing from his position, he came under enemy mortar fire and sustained fatal injuries. The defender was 30 years old. Roman was born in the city of Dnipro. He studied at the local vocational school No. 17, where he obtained the profession of a cook-confectioner. He worked as a chef in the restaurants "ABRI" and "FOREST Park". He invented and implemented dozens of dishes of his own cuisine. During the full-scale invasion, the man changed his profession and became a military man. He served in the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a squad commander in the reconnaissance platoon. "My son was a wonderful person, kind, sensitive, and fair. He led people. To get to the front, he even hid his profession in order to be at zero, not in the kitchen. He saved a comrade, for which he was presented with an award," said the mother of the deceased. The warrior was buried at the Krasnopilskyi cemetery in his hometown. Roman is survived by his mother Tetyana Leonidivna, sister Anna, and sons Timur and Yehor. Roman Mahamedov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the Medal "Defender of the Fatherland".
