- 43-year-old intelligence officer Roman Andriuk (call sign Romeo) was killedon February 26, 2023 near the settlement of Nevelske in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack. Roman was born and lived in Vinnytsia. There he received his education, got married and raised children. He worked as the head of military security. In his hometown, he was known as an active participant in the public life of the city and region, a member of the Vinnytsia regional unit of the NGO "Nobody but us". In 2014, as part of a group of airsoft players, he conducted training with those mobilized into the Armed Forces and the National Guard. He paid a lot of attention to the patriotic upbringing of youth. When the full-scale war began, the man voluntarily went to the military enlistment office with the words: "I have decided this so that I would not be ashamed to look into the eyes of my sons when they grow up." Subsequently, he was mobilized into the ranks of the 9th separate motorized infantry battalion "Vinnytsia Scythians" as part of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He underwent training in the United Kingdom, took the position of an artillery scout and went to the front. "I have never met such kind, sincere, and courageous men in my life! Roma was a very fair person and a true patriot of his country," said the wife of the fallen Tetiana. The defender was buried in his hometown. At home, he was awaited by his mother, wife, two sons and a daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
