Biography
Roman Olegovych Butusin was born on July 5, 1997, in Vladivostok (Russia). In 2014, the Butusins family moved from Russia to Ukrainian Prykarpattia. After learning the Ukrainian language, Roman enrolled in the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi, specializing as a "Scout-Artilleryman." However, due to health issues, he did not graduate. Later, he entered the National Aviation University. In 2020, together with his brother Leonid, they joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fought in Donetsk region. After the full-scale Russian invasion, they participated in the battles for Chernihiv region, where both were killed on March 9, 2022, during the defense of the village of Lukashivka. He is buried in the Alley of Glory in the city of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region. For his personal courage and heroism displayed in defense of Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and loyalty to the military oath, Roman Olegovych Butusin was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star.Burial place
