      Separate special-purpose detachment 'Azov' of the NGU
      Killed in action on February 14, 2015, during a battle while defending the positions of the unit in the area of the village of Shyrokyne in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region. Roman had a severe shrapnel wound to the leg. The doctors bandaged the leg and stopped the bleeding, but did not examine the rest of the body. Another fragment pierced the bulletproof vest and entered the body, leading to the soldier's death.
