Biography
Roman Oleksandrovych Dovhaliuk was born on June 14, 1990, in the city of Pervomaisk, Luhansk region. In 2011, after successfully graduating from the Kharkiv National Air Force University, he was assigned to the city of Staroostiantyniv in the Khmelnytskyi region. From the first day, he served in the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after P. Franko, progressing from an aviation unit navigator in an aviation squadron to a squadron navigator of the aviation squadron. On February 24, 2022, the aircraft crew consisting of Major Bilois and navigator Dovhaliuk took to the sky on a Su-24M aircraft. That day, the crew successfully executed the withdrawal of aviation equipment from a missile strike and landed at an alternate airfield. They continued to successfully carry out combat missions as assigned. Roman Dovhaliuk was killed on February 27, 2022, while performing a combat mission involving fire damage to the enemy's personnel and equipment near the village of Berezivka in the Bucha district of Kyiv region. For his personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to the military oath, Roman Oleksandrovych Dovhaliuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the III degree.Burial place
