Roman O. Kasianchuk

Roman Oleksandrovych Kasyanchuk was born on April 23, 1997, in Sloviansk, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region. After finishing secondary school, he worked as a crane operator, enjoyed fishing, and playing the guitar. At the end of 2021, he began contract service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of driver in the airborne assault troops. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was mobilized and served on the front line. Roman Kasyanchuk was killed on March 28, 2022, as a result of artillery shelling while carrying out a mission near the city of Izium in Kharkiv region. The fallen soldier was buried in the village of Rai-Oleksandrivka, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for loyalty to the military oath, Roman Oleksandrovych Kasyanchuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
