- Lieutenant Roman Mikhalewich was killed in action on March 27, 2022, during the defense of the Mykolaiv region. The officer was 21 years old. Roman was born in the village of Zamshany in Volyn. After school, he chose a military career and enrolled in the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. After graduation, he went to serve in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. During the full-scale war, together with his comrades, he began defending Ukraine from the first days. "Heavenly kingdom to you, our hero. Damn war cut off such a young life," wrote Mar'yana Mikhalewich. "Sincere condolences to the relatives who have faded from grief... God's protection to the younger brother, who, kneeling in front of the coffin, asked for forgiveness for not being able to save his elder brother on the battlefield... Strength and endurance to the friend who, holding Roman's hand, promised him a bright victory over the enemy and revenge for the death of a loyal comrade... Unforgettable, happy moments in the memory of the beloved girl who kissed her beloved for the last time... Sincere prayer for the newly departed warrior Roman... Bright Memory! Heavenly Kingdom! Eternal rest!" wrote Tetyana Kovch. The officer was buried in his native Zamshany. Roman was survived by his parents, brother, and sisters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
