Roman O. Pyroh (Bleid)

Serviceman Roman Pyrih (call sign Blade) was killed on July 5, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. Roman was 24 years old. He was born in the village of Kalanchak in the Kherson region. He graduated from school No. 2 there, then from the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding in Mykolaiv, majoring in "Physical Culture and Sports". He earned the title of Master of Sports in powerlifting "Strict Biceps Curl". In civilian life, he worked as a fitness trainer in Kyiv. He dedicated all his free time to training. He led a healthy lifestyle. During the full-scale war, he voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine. He joined the ranks of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura". He held the position of a machine gunner. He underwent combat training in Germany with the participation of American military personnel. "Roman will be remembered as a strong, courageous, and brave warrior, a reliable friend to his comrades and brothers-in-arms, a kind and loving son for his mother and relatives. A wonderful guy who never had the chance to know what a family is, but was the best for his beloved," wrote his mother Natalia Pyrih. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the city cemetery in Kamianets-Podilskyi. Roman is survived by his mother and grandmother.
