Roman O. Shestakov (Bielyi)

Soldier Roman Shestakov (call sign Belyi) was killed on July 21, 2023 near the village of Ternі in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained shrapnel wounds from an explosive wave that were incompatible with life. Roman was 23 years old. He was born in the village of Volya in the Mykolaiv region. He studied to be a welder at the Mykolaiv Technical School. He was then conscripted for military service. He had worked abroad - in the Czech Republic. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. During the full-scale invasion, the man decided to return to Ukraine and defend it. He joined the 21st separate mechanized brigade. "Roman was a true patriot and a devoted comrade, he made plans for life, dreamed of a happy future and believed in our victory until the end. He will always live in the hearts of his family and friends," wrote the warrior's aunt, Svitlana Balanova. The warrior was buried in his native village. Roman is survived by his parents, younger brother, grandmother and aunts.
