- Roman Sikorskyi (call sign Shrek), a scout, was killed on January 22, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was 25 years old. Roman was born in the village of Krasnenkе in the Mykolaiv region. He graduated from school. He then obtained a higher education at the Pervomaisky Polytechnic Institute named after Admiral Makarov, and was a mechanic by profession. He adored his profession, worked at a car service station, and derived great satisfaction from his work. He could repair anything with his own hands. He was fascinated by BMW cars, loved motorcycles and speed. When the full-scale war began, the man became more serious and joked less and less. He began to go to the military enlistment office and ask to be drafted. He was refused several times, but finally on August 29, 2022, Roman signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. When choosing a unit, together with a friend, they decided to be scouts. This is how they ended up in Marinka, Donetsk region, where they fought until the end of 2023. On January 6, 2024, Roman was transferred to the 132nd separate reconnaissance battalion of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of radio operator and went to defend the Zaporizhzhia region. "Romchik, Romashka voluntarily chose the path of a warrior-hero... He was transferred to the airborne assault brigade because he understood that he could give more to our state. He had a very big dream - to liberate the occupied village of Verbove, so on January 22 he himself rushed to the task, on which he was killed," his friend Marina Makarskaya said. The hero was buried in his native village. Roman left behind his parents, two sisters, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
