Roman O. Starodubtsev (Likvidator)

Junior Sergeant Roman Starodubtsev (call sign Liquidator) was killed on July 10, 2023 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. After a successful assault, he and his comrades went to evacuate the fighters and came under fire. The injuries proved to be fatal. The warrior was 32 years old. Roman was born in the village of Lazirky, Poltava region. He obtained the profession of a tractor driver at the Lazirkivsky vocational school. However, he always dreamed of being a soldier. After completing his studies, he was drafted into the regular military service. Then he signed a contract. In his free time, he loved to play football and chess. Later he was demobilized and worked at the Kernel company branch in his native village. Later he started working abroad. In November 2022, he returned from Poland and voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Roman became a serviceman of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura", took the position of a squad commander. "After the vocational school, my brother was drafted into the army at the same time as Bohdan Zinchenko (the fallen comrade), but to different units. When in 2022 Roma went as a volunteer to the Armed Forces, it so happened that they with Bohdan were assigned to the same unit, since then they became brothers-in-arms. Both loved football very much," said the sister of the fallen Roman. "The terrible news came again to our village... We all waited for good news about the search for the missing local defender Roman Starodubtsev. But, unfortunately... With each lost life, a part of the heart seems to be torn away... Roman was killed, defending his native land. For us, he will forever remain a hero, whom we are grateful for his life," the villagers of the fallen said. The warrior was buried in his native village. He left behind parents, a son, brothers and sisters.
