- Soldier Roman Kukhar (call sign Kipish) died on April 10, 2023, while defending the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region from the occupiers. During the execution of a combat mission, hostile shelling began. The warrior helped his comrades-in-arms to withdraw, but he himself received fatal injuries. In March, he turned 45 years old. Roman was born in the village of Hlynianka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Barsky Professional Construction Lyceum, where he mastered the profession of an electric gas welder. He worked as a builder and welder. He had many diverse hobbies. He loved to travel around Ukraine, as he could not sit still in one place. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the territorial defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 120th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces. He held the position of a grenade launcher assistant in the grenade launcher section of the fire support platoon. "My father was, without exaggeration, the kindest, most just and most honest person. I and everyone who knew him are proud of him, his courage and selflessness," said Marina Kukhar. The defender was buried in his native village.
