Roman P. Zahurskyi (Zlodii)

Soldier Roman Zahurskyi (call sign Thief) was killed on July 8, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Novovodiane in the Luhansk region. He would have turned 21 years old in September. Roman was born in the village of Tetirka, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the local lyceum. Then he went abroad, where he worked in construction. He loved sports, particularly football and volleyball. He participated in competitions. In December 2022, Roman joined the ranks of the defenders. He served in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was an operator-gunner. "Roma was my best friend. We went through a lot together. He was always ready to help in any situation, no matter what kind of relationship he had with a particular person. At the age of 20, he stood up to defend our country and gave his life for us. For me, he was, is, and will be the best person..." - said the deceased's friend. "Roma was a very good person, the soul of any company. Everyone knew that he was the one you could rely on in any circumstances. When needed, he was always there. He was also a very hardworking and responsible person. Roma was not like everyone else. He was not afraid of what people might think of him and just lived one day at a time, which he also taught his loved ones. Everyone who knew him can say what a wonderful person he was. Despite the problems and difficulties, Roma remained positive, no matter how bad it was, he never showed it. He loved life very much and knew how to enjoy it. He always loved children and wanted his own, but didn't have time..." - added his relatives. The defender was buried in his native village. Roman is survived by his parents, a younger sister, and two older brothers.
