- 24-year-old grenadier Roman Berezovsky (call sign Bereza) was killed on August 31, 2022 during the liberation of one of the settlements in the Kherson region. Roman was born in the city of Slavuta, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the local gymnasium and entered the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", studying at the Faculty of Integrated Training. "Roman was very active, persistent, friendly, sincere, kind, responsible, caring, and always successful. Every teacher remembers him with pleasure. Everyone has only warm memories of Roma," the city community noted. In 2021, the young man decided to defend the Motherland and went to serve in the 128th separate mountain assault Zakarpattia brigade. He carried out combat missions on the territory of the Joint Forces Operation. His comrades-in-arms said about him: "Bereza can be bent, but not broken." Roman himself was very pleased that such an opinion was circulating about him. When the full-scale war began, Roman, together with the unit, went to the hot fronts. He managed to take part in battles in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Kherson directions. In late August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began a military operation to deoccupy Ukrainian lands. Roman was killed in battles for the village of Novovoznesenske in the Kherson region. His unit was the first to storm the settlement. The village was liberated. However, Roman, as a true warrior, gave the most precious thing for this victory - his own life. "A great warrior, a grenadier, worked with the RPG-7. Very brave, desperate, physically and psychologically strong. Sociable, stood up for his comrades-in-arms. Humane, kind, but sometimes liked to get offended. Even officers did not argue with him. Very disciplined. And, most importantly, motivated. Roma is a fighter, a terror machine," his comrades-in-arms shared. The defender was buried in his native Slavuta. At home, his grandmother, parents, three sisters and fiancée were waiting for Roman.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
