- Sergeant Roman Borovets (call sign Dobryna) was killed on October 14, 2023, during the assault on enemy positions near the village of Raihorodka in the Luhansk region. The defender was 29 years old. Roman was born in the village of Velyki Mezhyrichchi, Rivne region. He studied at the local school. Then he obtained a degree in psychology at the Kremenets Regional Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy named after Taras Shevchenko. However, he did not want to work in his profession. He became a construction worker. He was passionate about sports, particularly football. He was married and expecting a son with his beloved, but in 2021, his pregnant wife passed away. Since then, the man's life has changed significantly. With the beginning of the full-scale war, he volunteered for the front, as he wanted Ukraine to be free and peaceful. He joined the ranks of the 68th Separate Rifle Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. For his kindness and character, he received the call sign Dobryna and became a platoon commander. He participated in the defense of the village of Pavlivka and in the battles for the city of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. At the end of July 2023, he was transferred to the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv region, and later ended up in the Luhansk region. "He always enjoyed authority and respect among his comrades. He was a faithful comrade and a brave fighter. He was distinguished by his dedication and loyalty to the cause he was engaged in. He had a strong spirit and an unbreakable will. The hero gave his life for our peaceful sky," wrote his brother Artem. Roman was buried next to his wife and son in the village of Velyki Mezhyrichchi. He is survived by his mother and brother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
