Roman S. Kuranosov (Zombi)

23-year-old soldier Roman Kuranosov (call sign Zombie) was killed on February 16, 2023 in the Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal gunshot wound. Roman was born and lived in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. He studied at the local school No. 4. Then he graduated from the Stryi Higher Vocational School No. 35. He was passionate about sports, particularly boxing. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Roman became a volunteer. Then he underwent training and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of gunner in the 81st separate airmobile brigade. "Roman was kind, cheerful. He loved sports. He always supported and helped," said the sister of the deceased. "Losses that cannot be accepted... A young man from Stryi has been volunteering since the beginning of the war, underwent training in the ranks of the Stryi Hundred of the Sich Riflemen, and later taught others himself. He sincerely and devotedly loved Ukraine and fought for it to the last. He was killed in the Luhansk region during the performance of a combat mission. An irreparable loss... Sincere condolences to mother Natalia, relatives and all close ones. Eternal memory!" - wrote on the page of the Stryi City Council. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory in his hometown. Roman is survived by his mother, sister and grandmother.
