Roman S. Mierkov

Merkov Roman Serhiyovych was born on August 3, 1994, in the village of Fedorivka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region. He graduated from the Odesa National Academy of Telecommunications named after O.S. Popov. In 2014, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served during the war in eastern Ukraine in the ATO/JFO zone. In June 2020, he was wounded while performing a combat mission. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was mobilized and was at the front as part of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". He was killed on April 11, 2022, in battles in the Kharkiv region. He was buried on April 17, 2022, in the Alley of Glory of the military cemetery in Kamyanske, Dnipropetrovsk region.
