- 36-year-old soldier Roman Yashchuk (call sign Talib) was killed on December 24, 2022 near the village of Bilohirivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the warrior received a fatal injury during enemy artillery shelling. Roman was born in the village of Seredynka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from high school in the village of Vyla-Yaruzkі, Vinnytsia region. Later, he settled in the city of Novoselytsia, Chernivtsi region. For the last 15 years, he worked as a carpenter and made custom-made furniture. He loved to craft wooden products, making many tabletop games for his daughters: chess, backgammon, catan, Chinese checkers, labyrinth, and more. He spent all his free time with his family. During the full-scale war, the man went to defend his family and country from the invaders. Roman became a fighter of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of a grenadier and went to the front line. "He is the best man and dad. He is my universe and the air I breathed. Forever our Hero, for the rest of our lives in our memory..." wrote the warrior's wife Yana. Roman was buried in the cemetery in the village of Zeleny Hay, Chernivtsi region. His wife and two daughters did not wait for their protector to return from the war. Posthumously, soldier Roman Yashchuk was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
