- Main Sergeant Roman Kokutun died on April 29, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Oleksandrivka, Donetsk region. The defender was 48 years old. Roman was born in Zaporizhzhia. He served in the Ukrainian Navy in Sevastopol. He had a higher education. Recently, he worked as the chief mechanic at the "Khlibodar" company. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the 80th separate air assault brigade, was the main sergeant of the 3rd company of the 2nd platoon. "My brother was very kind. Of course, he is the best for me, but many people know that he was ready to come to the aid of anyone who asked for it. Roman dreamed of being a paratrooper since childhood, but life turned out that he was a sailor when he served in the army. He loved the sea, sports, and nature. He loved life and lived it well. His desire to be a paratrooper came true when he went to the front. He was responsible in everything, brought every matter to a logical conclusion. Family was always the top priority for him. This is a heavy loss for all of us," said his brother Rodion. The defender was buried in the St. Nicholas cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. Roman is survived by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, father, brother, and sister. Posthumously, Sergeant Major Roman Kokutun was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
