- 36-year-old military Roman Lyadskyi was killed on January 5, 2024 in a battle for the city of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal mine-explosive injury. Roman was born and lived in the city of Vuhledar, Donetsk region. He graduated from the Donetsk National Technical University and obtained the profession of an engineer. He worked as a mining foreman at the Pivdendonbaska-3 mine named after M.S. Suhrai. In his free time, he was engaged in the manufacture of concrete products: street vases, flower pots, and planters. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man took up arms and stood up to defend his native land from the invaders. He served in the 109th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a rifleman, a mechanic-driver, and a squad leader. In September 2023, he was awarded the honorary badge "Golden Cross". "From the first days, Roman stood up to defend the Motherland. He worthily fulfilled his duties, bravely took on the most difficult tasks, and was an example for his comrades. He was always smiling and positive, a kind and life-loving person. He said he was fighting for our tears. He never complained and didn't talk much about the war, he didn't want to upset me. He always said: 'Everything will be Ukraine,' " his wife Oksana said. The warrior was buried in the village of Poharisko in the Lviv region. His mother and wife did not live to see their hero return from the war.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
