Roman V. Pecherskyi (Volyniaka)

Junior Sergeant Roman Pechersky (call sign Volyniak) was killed on July 26, 2023 in the village of Novodanilivka, Zaporizhia Oblast. He received fatal injuries during shelling from a Russian tank. Roman did not live to see his 43rd birthday, missing it by three days. He was originally from the village of Olyka, Volyn Oblast. He had worked in several professions - as a builder, electrician, and welder. He was a father of a large family. With his wife Olha, they raised five children. At the start of the full-scale war, he voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine. At the front, he served as a gunner in the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade. "He was a master of European-style renovations. He built a church. He had many talents and golden hands. He always helped everyone because he had a merciful heart," his wife said. Roman Pechersky was buried in his native village. The defender left behind a wife and children.
