- Sergeant Roman Podatkin (call sign Ramses) was killed on April 16, 2023 in battle with the occupiers near Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. The soldier was 49 years old. Roman was from the Sumy region. He graduated from 11 grades of school in the village of Stetskovka. He worked as a molder at a factory in the city of Sumy. In 1998, he moved with his mother and sister to the village of Priazovske in the Zaporizhia region. In his free time, he loved to read books, plant trees, flowers, and go fishing. He had a hobby - he made various wooden crafts. With the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, the man defended Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For 9 years, he repeatedly carried out combat missions on the front line: first in the area of the ATO / JFO, and then during the Great War. During the full-scale invasion, Roman was a serviceman of the 37th battalion of the 56th separate motorized infantry Mariupol brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon. The man sincerely believed in victory and fought for a free Ukraine until his last breath. The warrior was buried in the Zaporizhia region. Roman is survived by his mother, sister, relatives and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
