Roman V. Rudnytskyi (Los)

37-year-old Mariupol defender Roman Rudnytskyi (call sign Los) was killed during the breakthrough to the Azovstal plant on April 15, 2022. Roman was born and lived in Kyiv. He was a fan of the capital's football club Dynamo and one of the founders of the HTF collective, which for many years supported the Kyiv club at the stadium and beyond. In 2015, Roman decided to defend his homeland and joined the ranks of the separate special unit of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov. Over the years of service, he gained great respect and affection from the team. Every military operation under his leadership ended successfully. At the beginning of 2022, Roman planned to leave the service and start his own business. However, a full-scale war began. At that moment, Captain Rudnytskyi held the position of first deputy commander of the chief of staff of the 2nd battalion. From the first days, the warrior took part in the defense of Mariupol in Donetsk region. Until his last breath, he defended the city from Russian occupiers. My friend... My friend... Sleep peacefully... We will avenge you... I also took up arms in 2014 and to this day I stand in defense of my country, wrote Roman's friend Yaromira. The officer's body was returned to his relatives during the exchange. In July, he was buried at the Baikove cemetery in Kyiv. Roman's wife and three children did not wait for him.
