Biography
Tkachenko Roman Volodymyrovich (call sign Esthete) was born on July 29, 2000 in Kyiv. From a young age, he lived in the Berezniaky district on the left bank of Kyiv. He received his primary education at school No. 209. His first higher education was the Faculty of History and Philosophy of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, specializing in "History and Archeology". He was a member of the scientific society of students and postgraduates of the faculty. He prepared a number of publications and participated in scientific conferences. Outside of academic student life, he was an actor in the academic student theater "Borysfen" and a member of the historical reconstruction club "Heritage". In 2021, he graduated with a bachelor's degree and received the qualification of a historian. Immediately after that, Roman Tkachenko entered to obtain another higher education - he was enrolled in the master's program of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, at the Faculty of Urban Studies and Spatial Planning. This time, Roman Tkachenko was interested in the combination of historical and urban studies. He participated in international research projects. Due to the full-scale Russian invasion, he was unable to obtain a second education. Roman Tkachenko combined his studies with work in the specialty - he worked at the Museum of the Formation of the Ukrainian Nation. Throughout his conscious life, Roman Tkachenko dedicated himself to various public activities. Among the many areas, this was eco-activism - he supported the initiative "Ukraine without Garbage" and the protection of cultural heritage. In the latter, Roman was particularly interested in the legacy of monumental art, especially the mosaics of Kyiv. Roman Tkachenko joined the ranks of the military during the mobilization in connection with the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. He served in the 112th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the defense of Kyiv and in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. On May 31, 2022, he was killed in the village of Eskhar in the Kharkiv region.Burial place
