Roman V. Zahynailov

Junior Sergeant Roman Zahynaіlov was killed on September 16, 2023 near the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhia region. While performing his duties, he came under enemy mortar fire and received fatal injuries. The warrior was forever 44 years old. Roman was born in the city of Irpin, Kyiv region. He was a resident of the village of Shpyli. He graduated from the Malyn Forestry Technical School and obtained the qualification of a woodworking shop foreman. He worked at the enterprise "Northern Pushcha" in the city of Chornobyl. In 2023, the man received a summons, joined the army on April 27. He underwent training and joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 46th separate airmobile brigade. He held the position of a combat medic in the fire support platoon of the airmobile company. "My dad is a wise, intelligent, good person who always approached the situation with humor, no matter what it was, gave the right advice, lifted the mood when it was completely gone. He was sociable and always came to help," said Ksenia Zahynaіlova. Roman was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in the village of Shpyli. The defender left behind a wife, two daughters and a son. The paratrooper was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
