Roman Ya. Chornii

Roman Yaroslavovych Chorniy was born on July 2, 1997, in the village of Rata, Zhovkivskyi district, Lviv region. He completed his education at Rava-Ruska Comprehensive School No. 1, I-III levels. He then stuwas killed at the Rava-Rusky Professional Lyceum. At the age of 18, he voluntarily joined the 8th Separate Special Purpose Regiment, stationed in Khmelnytskyi, under a contract. He participated in the ATO in Eastern Ukraine. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was on the front lines. He was killed on April 9, 2022, as a result of a mine explosion near the town of Semenivka, Chernihiv region. The farewell and funeral service took place on April 12, 2022, in St. Joseph's Church. Roman Chorniy was buried in the city cemetery in Rava-Ruska. For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Roman Yaroslavovych Chorniy was posthumously awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
