- Airborne soldier Rostislav Korobenko (call sign Romeo) was killed on December 26, 2022 in battle with the occupiers near the village of Chervonopopivka in the Luhansk region. The defender received fatal shrapnel wounds to the head during enemy shelling. The warrior was 27 years old. Rostislav was born and lived in the capital. He studied at the Kyiv Professional College of Art Design. He then graduated from the Interregional Center for Jewelry Art, where he obtained the profession of a jewelry designer, faceter, and jewelry history teacher. He worked as a jeweler in the Parus pawnshop network. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the defense of the Motherland, replenishing the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the 25th separate airborne Sich brigade. He was the deputy commander of the fire support group. "The best son in the world," wrote Yuriy Korobenko. "A young, cheerful, fair guy who had a long life ahead of him. Rostislav was a true warrior, he carried out combat missions without hesitation, he was always eager to fight, this is a great loss for his unit and for all of Ukraine. Eternal and bright memory to the Hero! Rostislav will forever remain in our hearts and in our memory..." - added on the page of the Kyiv college. The warrior was buried at the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. At home, Rostislav was awaited by his father, brother, wife, other relatives and friends.
