Ruslan A. Borovyk (Bahdad)

Ruslan Anatoliyovych Borovyk was born on April 19, 1981 in the village of Kropyvnia, Novohrad-Volynskyi district, Zhytomyr region. He served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participated in missions in Iraq (2004-2005). He worked as an armored car guard in a bank for 12 years. He was actively involved in sports, ran marathons, and participated in marches of defenders. In 2014, he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, held the position of a grenadier in the 90th battalion. He took part in battles in the Donetsk region, near the villages of Pisky, Vodiane, Opytne, and the city of Avdiivka, and twice participated in the defense of the Donetsk airport. He was wounded in the leg. After demobilization, he worked at the Kyiv City Center for Assistance to ATO Veterans under the Kyiv City State Administration. He died on April 30, 2022 in a battle near the city of Izium, Kharkiv region. He left behind a wife and two daughters.
