Ruslan A. Khaziiev (Khabib)

Senior soldier Ruslan Khaziiev (call sign Khabib) was killed on October 9, 2023, while performing official duties near the village of Makiivka in the Luhansk region. The defender was 46 years old. Ruslan was born in the village of Kostiantynivka, Mykolaiv region. He grew up and lived in the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk. He graduated from 9 grades of city school No. 1. Later, he served in the military. For 25 years, he worked at the Kostiantynivske Montazh Upravlinnia of PJSC "Teploenerhomonazh". He started as a fitter, then became a foreman. In his free time, he liked to relax with his family. When the full-scale invasion began, Ruslan tried to join the local Territorial Defense Forces, but there were no more vacancies. So he started volunteering. On March 17, 2022, he received a summons and went to defend his native land from the Russian invaders. He held the position of sniper in the 9th separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the battles for Bakhmut and Kherson. He was repeatedly awarded with thanks and certificates for conscientious service. In the summer of 2023, he received the award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". "The most precious and kindest man and dad, who will never be with us again. We love him very much and will always remember him," wrote the civilian wife of the deceased Taisa Dubrovna. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk in the Mykolaiv region. At home, Ruslan was awaited by his parents, sister, civil wife and daughter.
