Ruslan A. Shuliak

Soldier Ruslan Shulyak (call sign Dyed) died on November 11, 2023 near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of a hit by an anti-tank guided missile. Now the warrior is forever 43 years old. Ruslan was born in the village of Sosnovka, Vinnytsia region. He mastered the profession of a welder at vocational school No. 38 in the village of Mazurivka. After getting married, he moved to the village of Dovzhok. For about 15 years, he worked in construction, performing the work of a painter-plasterer. He devoted his free time to his family. In January 2023, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of gunner in the 80th separate air assault brigade. "My husband was a good person, a kind-hearted person! I still don't believe he's gone. When he was called up to fight, I begged him not to go, to which he said: 'This is my duty, I'm going to protect my family first and foremost.' Ruslan accepted my two children as his own, and they loved him too. Later, our daughter Eva was born. He loved her very much. They were inseparable. He wanted to see her grow up. We had a lot of plans for the future, but fate decided otherwise. Three months of hell because we couldn't bring him back from the battlefield, and now it's not any easier. Our daughter constantly asks where her father is, and I tell her that he lives with God on a little cloud. We didn't live for very long, but in these years I felt what it means to be a woman, and the children - how to have a real loving father. There are no more such people as Ruslan. We will remember and love him forever, we will never forget him," said the warrior's wife Tetyana Shulyak. Ruslan was buried in the village of Dovzhok, Vinnytsia region. At home, he was awaited by his father, wife and three children. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.
