Ruslan M. Furmaniuk

Born on August 22, 1984, in the urban-type settlement of Pershotravneve, Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region. Graduated from the general education school of the urban-type settlement of Pershotravneve. Served in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for compulsory military service. Before mobilization, he worked in the cargo workshop of the Public Joint Stock Company Ovruch Mining and Processing Plant "Quartzite" (urban-type settlement of Pershotravneve). On July 17, 2015, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0998, city of Yavoriv, Lviv region). From summer to autumn 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. In November 2015, soldier Furmanuk sustained serious injuries while performing a combat mission. The serviceman was delivered unconscious to the Kharkiv military hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Kyiv. For 6 months, doctors fought for Ruslan Furmanuk's life, but their efforts proved futile. On June 5, 2016, the serviceman died from his injuries. He is buried in the cemetery of the urban-type settlement of Pershotravneve, Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region.
