Ruslan M. Savchenko

Junior Sergeant Ruslan Savchenko was killed on December 29, 2023, in combat with the occupiers near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior received fatal injuries during a mortar attack. Four days earlier, on December 25, the defender turned 47 years old. Ruslan was from the city of Starokostiantyniv in the Khmilnytskyi region. After finishing school, he mastered the profession of an electrician at a vocational school. He served in the military. Throughout his life, he worked in his profession, and before the invasion, he was working abroad. With the start of the full-scale war, despite his health condition, the man went to the front as a volunteer. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Ensign Marko Bezruchko. "He had good awards among his comrades-in-arms and commanders, always diligently carried out all the commander's tasks, had a courageous spirit and great faith in our victory. He wanted to live in a free country and build a bright life. He never gave up and tried to do everything for our victory! Our defender from the beginning to the end of his days stood in defense of our Motherland, worthily fulfilling his duties not only as a serviceman, but also as a person," said the deceased's loved ones. "I haven't seen my father for two years, because at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he went to defend our state. Now the war has taken him from me..." wrote his daughter Anastasia. The hero was buried in his hometown. Ruslan is survived by his parents, two daughters, and grandchildren.
