Ruslan P. Melnyk (Kazhan)

35-year-old defender Ruslan Melnyk (call sign Kozhan) was killed on June 6, 2022, during the defense of Luhanshchyna. An enemy shell hit the bunker where the soldier was. Ruslan was born and lived in Kyiv. He stuwas killed as an engineer-builder at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. He worked as a technical director at Hisense. He loved winter, snow, and snowboarding. During the full-scale war, the man joined the 207th separate battalion of territorial defense. He was a machine gunner. He was a kind and positive person, always came to help. He loved his life and cats. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, he went as a volunteer. He always supported and never lost his spirit, said the hero's sister Lyudmila. The soldier was buried in the village of Andriivka, Zhytomyr region. Ruslan's parents and sister are left behind.
