Ruslan R. Rudnichuk (Student)

Junior Sergeant Ruslan Rudnichuk (call sign Student) died on July 21, 2023 near the village of Nevske in the Luhansk region. In the battle with the enemy, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. The fighter was only 23 years old. Ruslan was a native of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. After completing secondary education, he enrolled in the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, specializing in Law. He was passionate about sports and led an active lifestyle. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he decided to leave his studies and join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave. Despite lacking military education, he successfully carried out reconnaissance tasks thanks to his own abilities, determination, and sound decisions, for which he was promoted to the rank of junior sergeant and appointed as a squad leader, machine commander of the reconnaissance platoon. "My son was very courageous, brave, sincere, kind, and handsome. The best son! At the age of 23, after spending a year and three months on the "zero line", he received the status of a war veteran. Unfortunately, Ruslan did not have the chance to fulfill all his dreams, plans, and hopes. Postponing the study of criminal law at the academy, leaving his loved ones, he followed the call of his heart to defend the state from the invaders. He always hoped that our country would flourish and the rule of law would prevail," said Lyudmyla Rudnichuk. The young defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the "Sukhyi Yar" cemetery in his native Bila Tserkva. Ruslan is survived by his parents and sister.
