Ruslan R. Sheremet

Reconnaissance officer Ruslan Sheremeta died on June 7, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv direction. He was only 27 years old. Ruslan was born in the Ternopil region. He graduated from the National Pedagogical University named after M.P. Drahomanov. He was an activist and a member of the organization "Tradition and Order". He read a lot of books, especially philosophical ones (Kierkegaard, Plato) and about war (Junger). With the start of the full-scale war, the man joined the defense forces. He served in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He was one of the founders of the tactical group "Revenge". He carried out complex combat missions in various directions of the front. The fighter was awarded the medal "For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine", the incentive award "For Courage in the Performance of Special Assignments", and the award of the tactical group "Revenge". "Ruslan was a very sensitive, courageous and honest man. He dreamed of heroic deeds and was zealous that someone else would carry them out instead of him. During the day, he was a warrior, and in the evening, we, like happy retirees, covered with a blanket, read books. After the battles near Kyiv, he was an instructor for recruits. He knew how to organize people and the space around him. And he sometimes scolded me for creative disorder. I know that his comrades confidently relied on him, because in such a person you can be more confident than in yourself. Sometimes it seems to me that this world simply does not want to see happiness," his beloved Anna said. The hero was buried in the village of Chopovychi in the Zhytomyr region. Ruslan is survived by his parents, sister, grandmother, aunt, and girlfriend.
