Ruslan V. Horoshko

Senior soldier Ruslan Horoshko (call sign Bob) was killed on February 27, 2024 near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, his unit came under Russian artillery fire. The defender was 36 years old. Ruslan was from the town of Zavodske in the Poltava region. He received secondary specialized education at Myrhorod Vocational School No. 44. He worked as an operator at JSC "Ukrgasvydobuvannya". During the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland in the ranks of the 35th separate marine brigade. "Ruslan is a hero of our time, a loving husband and a wonderful father. A son worthy of praise, the pride of Ukraine. He bravely stood up to defend the state, not evading responsibility. He carried out orders clearly. A man of his word," said the warrior's wife Natalia. The defender was buried in his hometown. Ruslan left behind his parents, wife and two daughters, who were 12 and 2.5 years old at the time of his death. Senior soldier Ruslan Horoshko was posthumously awarded the "Combatant's Cross" badge and the Order of Courage of the III degree. In the town of Zavodske, the street where Ruslan lived was renamed in his honor.
