- Serviceman Ruslan Kamenyev (call sign Kama) was killed on February 6, 2023 near the village of Novobahmutivka in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he and his comrades came under artillery fire. The soldier shielded his comrade, but sustained fatal injuries himself. He would have turned 43 years old in March. Ruslan was born in the village of Skhidne, Kherson region. In 1997, he graduated from Kherson Vocational School No. 2, where he obtained the profession of plasterer-painter. For some time he worked at the Dariivska Correctional Colony No. 10, but spent most of his life working in his profession, also as a construction worker. He loved to relax with his family. He had been interested in military affairs since childhood. When the full-scale war began, he left the temporarily occupied Kherson region with his family. Convinced that his loved ones were safe, on April 27, 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ruslan served in the 45th Separate Rifle Battalion. He was a squad commander. "My husband was a very bright person, kind, cheerful, always ready to help. He loved his parents and family very much. He was responsible, courageous, and brave. He had the respect and authority of his comrades. He was a true patriot, loved Ukraine and voluntarily defended it. Unfortunately, our younger son will never know what his father was really like. At the time of the burial, the child was one year old. We are all proud of our defender, we miss him," said Maria Kamenyeva. The hero was buried in the village of Zeleniвka in the Kherson region, where he lived with his family. Ruslan is survived by his parents, wife, two sons, family, friends and comrades-in-arms. Posthumously, Sergeant Ruslan Kamenyev was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
