Biography
Koshovyi Ruslan Volodymyrovych was born on February 13, 1982. On February 24, 2022, Russian occupiers attempted to seize the "Antonov" airport in the town of Hostomel, Kyiv region, where the 30th State Fire and Rescue Unit was located. The head of the unit, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Koshovyi, while trying to save the personnel and firefighting equipment, came under enemy fire while moving along the runway. Thanks to his heroic actions, he was able to save two seriously wounded colleagues, who were subsequently evacuated from the airport. Ruslan died from severe injuries incompatible with life. The body of Ruslan Koshovyi was not returned by the Russian occupiers and was later taken out of Ukraine. His body was only exchanged in August 2023. On September 8, 2023, a farewell ceremony for the rescuer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine took place in Kyiv. For his personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to his military oath, Koshovyi Ruslan Volodymyrovych was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III class.Burial place
