- Junior Sergeant Ruslan Yavorskyi (call sign BMW) was killed on January 23, 2023, in combat with the occupiers near the settlement of Pervomaisky in the Donetsk region. The warrior's life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. The defender was 45 years old. Ru slan was born and lived in Zhmerynka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from school No. 6. He worked as a private entrepreneur. He was passionate about cars, especially loved BMW, hence the call sign. In his free time, he practiced boxing. With the start of the full-scale war, the man went to the military enlistment office to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Soon he became a serviceman of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He took the position of a squad commander and went to the front line. "Dad was kind, always supported and helped. From the beginning of the war, he went to the military enlistment office and signed a contract. He was always the first. He loved his family very much," said the deceased's son. "From the first days of the full-scale war, shoulder to shoulder with his comrades-in-arms, the courageous warrior defended the right of every Ukrainian to live in a free and sovereign state, bringing victory closer every day. The resident of Zhmerynka chose the difficult path of a warrior and worthily walked it, fighting for our life under a peaceful sky. The heart of the brave warrior stopped at the age of 45... He did not live to see, did not dream, but he firmly believed in Ukraine and gave the most precious thing - his life for his native country. Benevolent, cheerful, purposeful, sincere and always ready to help those in need - this is how Ruslan Yavorskyi was and will forever remain in our hearts," the Zhmerynka City Council noted. Ruslan was buried in the central cemetery in his native Zhmerynka. At home, he was awaited by his mother Larysa, his wife Valentyna, and his son Ismail.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
