Serhii A. Boretskyi (Siedoi)

Sergeant Major Serhii Boretskyi (call sign Sіdyi) was killed on January 13, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the Siversk area of Donetsk region. The warrior was forever 51 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Ksaverivka, Zhytomyr region. He lived in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv region. He graduated from the local school and then from a vocational school. He worked at the Lozova Forging and Mechanical Plant. Later, he went to work in the Czech Republic. He loved fishing, reading, adored resting in nature and spending time with his family. Since 2014, he has participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He had awards. Military affairs became his main focus in life. He met the full-scale invasion of the enemy on the positions of the Donetsk region in the ranks of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He was the commander of a mortar battery. "With great sadness, pain and tears in my eyes, I write memories about him... Serhii was a real man: courageous, honest, fair, kind, responsible, caring, a man of honor and conscience. If he started something, he put his whole soul into it and did it well. He had many plans for life. He was always worried about his family and parents. He was a true patriot of his country, a reliable friend and comrade. He never complained that it was difficult for him, he always said: "I'm doing well." There is a pain in my heart from the loss... There is a force that can take from life, but never from memory. He will forever remain in the heart and memory. I am grateful for everything that was. May the holy earth keep your eternal sleep. Soft clouds for you, my Angel. Eternity will take you in its hands. You are forever in the Heavenly Army," wrote the wife of the fallen Tetiana. The hero was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Central Cemetery in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv region. Serhii is survived by his parents, sister, nephew, and wife.
