Serhii A. Lysenko

25-year-old anti-aircraft gunner Serhiy Lysenko was killed in action on July 5, 2022, during a massive air strike near one of the hottest spots in Donetsk region. During the battle near the village of Bakhmutivka, the fighter received injuries incompatible with life. Serhiy was born in the city of Boryspil, Kyiv region. He was the eldest in the family, had five brothers and sisters. Later, the family moved to Kaharlyk, where Serhiy received secondary education, graduated from Kaharlyk Lyceum. In 2016-2019, he served in the military under contract. In 2016-2017, he took part in the ATO. After demobilization, he returned to peaceful life, planned to live in Boryspil, dreamed of creating a family with his beloved, built plans for the future. But the war made cruel adjustments. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Serhiy, together with his younger brother, stood up to defend his native country. He fought in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. They said goodbye to Serhiy in Boryspil. Representatives of the city of Kaharlyk, the hero's second small homeland, also came here. "In our city, the warrior is remembered as a diligent student, a modest and kind person," said Ivan Semtsov, deputy head of Kaharlyk, in his farewell speech.
