Serhii A. Rieznik

31-year-old soldier Serhiy Ryaznik was killed on August 29, 2022, near the village of Myrolyubivka in the Kherson region. During a combat mission, he and his comrades came under enemy artillery fire and sustained serious injuries. Despite this, he tried to help others. Serhiy was born in Dniprodzerzhynsk (now the city of Kamianske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2010, he graduated with honors from Kamianske Vocational Technical School No. 24. He was a welder by profession. For a long time, he practiced the martial art Wing Chun Kuen Pai. He was a junior instructor, conducting training sessions and working with children. In 2014, he moved with his family to Pavlohrad. There, he began working as a delivery courier for the company "Delivery," and later as a driver and manager in a private firm. During the full-scale invasion, he could not remain on the sidelines and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter in the 17th Separate Tank Brigade named after Kostyantyn Pestushko. He held the position of senior shooter. He believed in victory over the enemy and fought until his last breath. "He was determined and fair. A very honest and decent man. He was ready to give his life for his family. My heart was just torn apart... He was a holy man... I thank him for giving me children who resemble him so much: daughter Svitlana and son Oleksandr. We are proud of him. Now he is our guardian angel. He believed in Ukraine's victory, and we believe too. He gave his life for this," said the soldier's wife, Viktoriya. Serhiy's body was cremated, and his ashes were buried in Pavlohrad. His mother, wife, daughter, and son awaited their defender at home but did not see him return.
