Serhii A. Rozsokha

Sergeant Serhii Rozsoha was killed on November 22, 2022, in combat with the enemy near the settlement of Kurdyumivka in the Donetsk region. During the artillery and mortar shelling of the position, he received fatal wounds. A day before this, he turned 45 years old. The fighter was considered missing until April 2023. Serhii was born in the village of Mayachka, Poltava region. He graduated from school there. Then he went to work in a collective farm as a combine harvester. Later he served his conscription in Uzhhorod. Returning to his native village, he immediately went to work at the local agricultural firm. All his life he was a farmer. He loved the land. He was a deputy of the 6th convocation of the Mayachkivska village council. He was a caring owner, had many friends, and loved fishing. In 2015-2016, he took part in the ATO. During the full-scale war, the man again took up the defense of Ukraine from the occupiers. Serhii fought in the ranks of the 62nd separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of a rifle squad. "My beloved was a hardworking, conscientious, persistent, loving man, a father and a son. Everything said about the beloved is about a real man for whom family and Motherland were not empty places," said Tetiana Rozsoha. Serhii was buried in the cemetery in his native village of Mayachka on April 27, 2023. The defender left behind a mother, wife, son, and sister. The warrior was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
