Serhii A. Seredinskyi

24-year-old fighter Serhii Seredynskyi was killed on November 22, 2023, during an assault near the village of Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained serious injuries. His comrades tried to evacuate him from the battlefield. Many soldiers from both the assault group and the evacuation group were killed due to an attack by enemy drones. Serhii was born in the village of Horobiyivka, Cherkasy region. He was a good student, an activist, a class monitor, and an athlete. He practiced kickboxing and participated in and won various competitions. From childhood, he was passionate about fishing and tourism. He went on hikes with his friends, organized bicycle races and competitions. After school, he enrolled at Cherkasy National University, where he obtained a degree in physical education and rehabilitation. He was involved in weightlifting and powerlifting and had many friends. At the age of 18, he married his beloved Lisa, and a year later, they had a son named Roman. To support his family, he worked a lot, including a job at the "Nova Poshta" company. Serhii was described as a cheerful, sociable person who was always coming up with ideas and had strong leadership qualities. He was a good and responsible father, despite his young age. In February 2023, he joined the military, and after two months of training, he was sent to the Zaporizhzhia direction as part of the 71st separate Ranger Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In June, he was sent to the sergeant's school, and in July, he was performing the duties of a group commander in the same Zaporizhzhia region, although he was never officially promoted to the rank of sergeant. The hero was buried in his native Cherkasy region. He left behind a loving family, friends, and comrades.
